Hi, I'm Kris...
one lucky girl following my dreams and somehow getting to call photography my job! I’m based in beautiful Port Macquarie, photographing people and homes all across the Mid North Coast (and beyond). Bali someone? Totally manifesting here!!! It's no secret that I LOVE to travel.
Life at home is shared with Rodgie — my spunky, Scottish, mostly inaudible (but honestly… how hot is a Scottish accent) husband — and our wild, funny, food-loving, tree-climbing eight-year-old daughter, Isla. I grew up on a fourth-generation family farm just outside Port Macquarie, so I’m a country girl at heart. Give me wide open spaces, dirt roads or rolling paddocks and I’m happy.
I’ve loved photography ever since a life-changing trip to Nepal nearly two decades ago. Six years ago, I walked away from a very comfortable career as an Accountant to pursue photography full time. Mum thought I was completely crazy! Looking back I tend to agree.
Alongside photographing boutique properties, food and businesses, I also run a women-only photography community called The Shutter Sisterhood — a supportive space where women with a shared passion for photography can connect, create and grow together.
I also teach the basics of photography through relaxed women's only photography workshops held around a long table (sometimes this involves a glass of wine). My goal is simple: help women feel confident using their cameras while creating new friends along the way.
Cheers,
Kris x
PS: Top secret — I hate having my photograph taken. So I completely understand how weird it feels being on the “wrong” side of the camera.
