A Picnic, a Photoshoot & a Love Story
When Karita from Port Macquarie Picnics reached out about a photoshoot, I knew I was going to enjoy this shoot. Karita's picnic business is her little escape from the chaos of home - I get it! This is her 'business baby', hours of work nurturing the business, making sure that every styled picnic she creates across the Mid North Coast is beautiful. Can I also say her picnics are soooo affordable. I'm coaching her that her prices need to increase so maybe book now before my vocational advice is enacted!

The Secret Picnic Surprise
Tim & Ally were in town celebrating their second wedding anniversary. Ally told Tim he was having a photoshoot—that part was true. What she didn’t mention was the surprise: the most romantic picnic at Lighthouse Beach, complete with champagne and a grazing platter fit for a queen (Queen Ally that is).
Honestly, if you’re looking for anniversary ideas in Port Macquarie, this is the way to do it!
Tim getting even! I love a good water play fight.
When one Remembers ones Anniversary
Tim & Ally are a gorgeous couple, clearly enjoying their weekend away at Sails Resort Port Macquarie, soaking up some well-deserved kid free time together. Meanwhile, my last wedding anniversary consisted of my hubby muttering “Happy anniversary” over his instant coffee (in fairness he remembered which was better than the other party in the relationship). No champagne. No fairy lights. Definitely no grazing platter. We need to step up our romance game—and Karita might just be the answer.
So many gorgeous details.
My Turn for a Picnic
I’ve already booked a personalised Mummy/Daughter chocolate picnic for these school holidays. Usually, our “chocolate parties” involve Isla raiding the fridge, and delivering me chocolate in bed (might explain my back rolls). This will be way more classy and a cute little memory for Isla to remember her very spoilt childhood (only child privileges).
And next? I’ll be hitting Mum up to babysit so Rodgie and I can have our own romantic Paint and Sip Picnic. Because let’s face it, my hubby can’t sit still, and I’m the better painter. No doubt his masterpiece will look like a lopsided potato, while I’ll be going full Van Gogh—slapping on outrageous amounts of paint appallingly under the guise of “post-impressionism.”
Romance is alive and well.
Final Thoughts
Tim & Ally got their dreamy anniversary picnic, Karita created another stunningly beautiful picnic, and I got a reminder that romance doesn’t have to mean “hey babe, did you take the bins out?”
If you’re looking for a romantic picnic on the Mid North Coast, whether at Lighthouse Beach or tucked away somewhere special in Port Macquarie, Karita from Port Macquarie Picnics has you covered.
